What we collect
We only collect the information we need to respond to you and carry out our work. This may include:
-
Your name, email address, telephone number and postal address
-
Details of your enquiry, or the property and works involved
-
Anything you choose to include in a message or form
-
Basic technical information collected automatically when you use our website (see our cookies policy)
When we carry out contracted work, we may also process information such as access arrangements, photographs of the works, and any health or vulnerability details relevant to delivering the work safely.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries and provide quotes; arrange and carry out asbestos surveys, removal, disposal and consultancy; keep records required by law; and manage our contracts and communicate with you.
Our lawful bases
We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:
-
Performance of a contract — to arrange and deliver the work you've asked us to do
-
Legal obligation — to keep asbestos and health and safety records as required by law
-
Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries and manage our day-to-day business
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary. Some records must be kept by law: asbestos removal records are retained for a minimum of 40 years under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, and contract and work records for at least 6 years. Enquiry information that doesn't lead to work is kept only as long as needed to deal with it.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information or share it for marketing. We may share it where necessary with sub-contractors carrying out part of the works, or where we're required to by law (for example, HSE notifications). Where we do share information with a sub-contractor, we share only what's needed and require them to keep it secure. We don't transfer your personal information outside the United Kingdom.
Keeping it secure
We take appropriate steps to protect your information, including secure, password-protected systems and limiting access to those who need it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to be informed about how we use your data, to access it, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have it erased where there's no legal reason to keep it, and to restrict or object to how we use it, as well as the right to data portability. To exercise any of these, please contact us using the details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
